Training Pastors & Developing Leaders
BGM exists to encourage, equip and empower pastors in developing nations for their work of reaching out and making disciples of all nations.
In developing nations it is estimated that only 5% of pastors have any formal training for their work. That means 95% of pastors in poor nations are alone in trying to figure out how to study, interpret and communicate scripture, discern right theological belief, lead their congregations, and live as disciples of Jesus Christ. Most of these pastors long for solid training but they cannot afford the cost of tuition, travel, and leaving their crops or other livelihoods to get the training offered in larger population centers.
Life and ministry are complicated and difficult. Suffering and persecution are daily realities in many places of our world and we believe in the importance of coming alongside our needier brothers and sisters in the global south to equip and encourage them. Working with my brother the Rev. Dr. Bob Ekblad at Tierra Nueva's People's Seminary and utilizing the Certification in Transformational Ministries on the Margins curriculum we train leaders with hands on biblical resources for meeting deep human need.
BGM has worked in Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda and has trained over 1,000 pastors and leaders to-date. The universal response to our trainings is deep gratitude and excitement for the next offering. We are seeing pastors and leaders built up, encouraged and equipped. Frequently we also get to participate in God's miraculous healing works. Our regular experience is that God is One who loves to confirm His Word with signs and wonders. Praise God!
